Rebook / Reprice Policy

(formerly Rollover Policy)

American Airlines Rollover Policy allows repricing the current ticketed itinerary and, if this results in a lower fare, the customer is entitled to a refund of the fare difference.

Qualification

A customer with a 001 UNUSED ticket may qualify for a lower fare if the same ticketed itinerary reprices at a lower fare.

Rebook/reprice process should be done before travel begins.

The following rules apply:

·       Request must be voluntary. Automated re-shopping is not permitted per the Addendum to Governing Travel Agency Agreements

·       Ticket must be issued on AA 001 ticket stock

·       Rollover process should be done before outbound travel date. The ticket must be completely unused

·       Itinerary must be confirmed in the correct inventory based on the new price/fare basis code requirements

·       Must be an AA published fare

·       AA*codeshare flights or Other Airline as a secondary carrier allowed as long as this is an AA marketed fare

·       If the ticketed fare has a penalty, it must be deducted from the fare difference

Rebook / Reprice option is not applicable

·       Basic Economy fares

·       Other non-changeable fares

·       Contract bulk fares

·       Air/sea fares

·        Tickets with other airlines’ fares, even if the customer is on AA ticket stock (001).

o   The customer will need to contact the other carrier directly for rollover/lower fare information

Fare Rules

·        Advance purchase / Ticketing Requirement: The travel commencement date must meet the advance purchase/ticketing requirements of the new fare at the time the reservation was originally ticketed.

Example: Original itinerary was ticketed June 16. New fare added June 19 which requires a seven-day advance purchase. Itinerary travel commences June 23.

Passenger meets advance purchase requirements for rollover, based on above example, as the new fare requires 7 days of advance purchase, and the ticket was originally issued on June 16.

·       Minimum/Maximum Stay

·       Travel Embargo Dates

·       Booking Code - the itinerary is currently confirmed in the inventory that corresponds to the new fare or is rebooked in the inventory of new fare.

Processing

·       Provided all the Rebook/Reprice criteria are met, the ticket may be rebooked and repriced on or before the date of departure.

·       Refundable fares with NO penalty fee: the difference is refunded to original form of payment.

·       Refundable fares with penalty: the penalty will be deducted from the difference in the fare and the difference is refunded to the original form of payment.

·       Non-refundable fares: applicable change fee will be deducted from the difference in fare.

o   ARC Tickets - Any residual value remaining may be issued in the form of an MCO

o   BSP Tickets – Any residual value remaining, refer to BSP Refund Application RA Residual
