An update to American’s flexible fare offerings

  • Extended offer through July 31, 2020

 

American Airlines has further extended its offer to waive change fees for customers who purchase tickets by July 31, 2020, for future travel. This offer applies to tickets that meet the following criteria:  

 

 

      • Any ticket, except Basic Economy fares, purchased on or before July 31, 2020, for future travel will not incur a change fee prior to travel. 
      • Changes to origin and destination are allowed.
      • No penalty will apply for voluntary changes made prior to departure of your ticketed trip as stated in Category 16 of the fare rule. All other fare rules will apply and any fare difference, if applicable, must be paid at the time of the exchange.

   

American currently has a change fee waiver in place for all tickets, including Basic Economy, for travel through September 30, 2020. View our Coronavirus Global Flexibility Waiver for more information.

 

Also, today American announced we will adjust our long-haul international schedule for winter 2020 through summer 2021.

 

The travel agency Reduction/Suspension of Service pages are updated on SalesLink for the Americas and the Caribbean, Asia, Europe / Middle East / Africa, and South Pacific with the new schedule information.
