Trip In Vain
When a customer is flown to an intermediate point, through stop point, or lands in a diversion city due to an irregular operation, which may not get them to their final destination, they may choose to discontinue their journey and return back to their origination city.
Example:
· Customer is flown to their connection city; the connection flight is subsequently cancelled or delayed.
· Customer’s flight is diverted to another city.
As a result of those irregular operations, the customer has missed the purpose of their trip (i.e. meeting, funeral, wedding, etc.)
· Trip in Vain provides the option of returning to their origination point and seek a potential refund
· Trip in vain reissues must be processed by AA
o Travel Agency Reissues are subject to a Debit Memo
· Once the trip is completed, Trip in Vain refund requests must be submitted via the Refunds website
· The value of any refund will be determined by the Refunds department
