Tariff Requests
For International Itineraries only
American Airlines will calculate fares for international itineraries that include confirmed international AA segments for North American CRS (Computer Reservations Systems) subscribers. Fares will not be computed for any itineraries that are entirely OA space or contain no AA international segments. Travel between the United States and Canada is not considered international.
To save time on your next call, you can queue the PNR(s) as follows:
CRS |
RUSH QUEUE |
NON-RUSH QUEUE |
Amadeus (1A) |
QE/DFWAA1101/5 |
QE/DFWAA1101/6 |
Apollo (Covia) (1V) |
QEP/QHH/15 |
QEP/QHH/16 |
SABRE (1S) |
QP/TUL58/4 |
QP/TUL61/4 |
Worldspan (PARS) (1P) |
QEP/AA0/20 |
QEP/AA0/20 |
NOTE: Queues are worked Monday – Friday. Rush queues are completed within one business day of receiving the request.
Non-rush queues will be completed within three business days of receiving the request.
· If a change is made to the itinerary after a PNR has been queued, please do not re-queue as this will only remove the PNR from its current place in the queue and move it to the bottom.
· If a fare request is “in progress”, it will be noted in the PNR. In Sabre, the phone field will show "RATE IS IN PROGRESS." Other systems will use similar messages in the OSI or SSR fields. For updates, please contact the AA Tariff department.
· If a PNR is queued multiple times before a fare is calculated, the system will prioritize the most recent request and discard the earlier ones. As a result, queuing a PNR repeatedly can only delay the fare calculation.
· To ensure accurate processing, please use the delimiter "AA" before all relevant remarks in the PNR* (See examples below). These remarks should include information like:
§ Country or base station for a military fare
§ Form of payment or type of government fare
§ Ticket designator for AAdvantage award or upgrade travel
§ Child ages for a child discount fare
Examples:
AA** NEED MILITARY FARE. PSGR BASED - GERMANY
AA** PSGR IS GOVT EMPLOYEE, FORM/PAYMENT- GTR
AA** AADV AWARD - TKT DESIGNATOR IS AVYJC
Note: Using the delimiter "AA" and including relevant remarks will improve processing efficiency and ensure your rate request is completed accurately and promptly.
Special notes for Sabre agencies
Sending a fare calculation request
· To request the lowest available fare, including any associated restrictions and penalties, you can add a remark to the PNR before queuing it for a fare.
· Please note AA is unable to change inventories of any segments booked on other airlines
· If no remarks line is included in the fare request, the fare will be calculated on the itinerary as confirmed by the subscriber.
· In order to process the request, PNR must have an active itinerary.
o Requests without an itinerary cannot be worked as the agency’s PNR loses the link to the AA version and information can’t be sent back to the agency.
o Flights added to the remarks are not considered an active itinerary.
For example:
AA* ATTN RATE DESK - OK TO CHANGE INVENTORIES
AA* TO COMPLY WITH LOWEST CALCULATION
PQ and Phase 4
American Airlines has discontinued the "Phase 4" process for manual pricing records. The "PQ" (price quote) record is now used. Sabre entries allow agents to convert existing PQ records to the "Phase 4" format, enabling Sabre subscribers to receive fares from AA and issue tickets accordingly.
For detailed instructions, please refer to Sabre's format finder. If you have any questions, contact your Sabre help desk.
