Reissue automation
American expects tickets to be reissued at the time of the change unless the fare rule specifies otherwise. Most fare rules require paying the fare difference and service charge when rebooking an itinerary and reissuing the ticket.
As per most fare rules, the fare difference and the service charge must be paid, and the ticket must be reissued when the itinerary is rebooked. American anticipates the reissue to take place at the time the change is made to the ticket unless otherwise indicated in the fare rules. Our goal is to ensure our mutual customers are ready to board on the day of departure.
To ensure a smooth travel experience, we have implemented the following automation process:
· For any voluntary itinerary changes where tickets have not been reissued, automation will send an SSR ADTK with a deadline for completing the reissue. This proactive step helps ensure our mutual customers are ready-to-board on their departure date.
Example:
SSR ADTK YY TKT REISSUE REQD BY (CT time) (CT date)
Departures more than 24 hours |
Departures within 24 hours |
ADTK will be sent 12 hours after an itinerary change |
ADTK will be sent 10 minutes after an itinerary change |
We are confident this will assist you with helping us improve the overall customer check-in experience.
