Name Field

The PNR/Order name field should match the customer’s first name and last name only as stated on the valid government-issued photo identification that the customer is using for travel. Do not add a prefix, middle name/initial or suffix.

Adding a title, suffix, middle name, or middle initial to the name field compromises the integrity of our data and is highly discouraged.

See below for Customer’s full name (middle name/initial), Single Character last name and Single name details.

Multiple last names or Middle name

·         Use only the first and Last name in the PNR/Order as it appears on the customer's government issued ID. Do not add a prefix, middle name/initial or suffix.

·         If you need to add a middle name or initial, you don’t need to change the Name field in the PNR/Order. The SFPD field allows you to add a middle name without altering the name on the reservation. Simply enter the passenger's full name, including the middle name, in the SFPD field to maintain consistency and provide complete information.

·         A title or suffix (Mr., Dr., Ms., Jr., Sr., etc.) should not be used in the SFPD, or Passport (APIS) information.

·         The middle name/middle initial is required for SFPD or APIS to exactly match the valid government-issued photo identification that the customer is using for travel as this data is sent to the TSA and used for vetting purposes. The SFPD data should include the customer’s full name, including middle names and/or initial, as it appears on said document.

·         In many cases the PNR/Order name and SFPD field will be different due to the middle name/initial.

Note: GDS functionalities differ and may not support the middle name or middle initial. Check with your GDS Help Desk for clarification on Name Field requirements.

Single Character Last Name

If a customer advises that he/she has a single character last name of "B", "C", "Z" or "I", the character must be doubled due to Sabre coding requirements for the PNR/Order name field; however, it must be properly documented in the SFPD documentation.

Example:

PNR/Order Name Field - ZZ/JULIANNE
SFPD in SSR – DOCS/DB/01JAN00/F/Z/JULIANNE

Note: Check with your GDS Help Desk for clarification on name field coding requirements

Single Name

If the customer's legal name is a single/one name; enter the single name as their last name. Use FNU as their first name in the PNR/Order name field.

Example:

PNR/Order Name Field – MADONNA/FNU
SFPD in SSR – DOCS/DB/01JAN00/F/MADONNA

Note: Check with your GDS Help Desk for clarification on PNR/Order name field coding requirements.

Infants

Infants with a seat

·         SFPD is required for infants with a seat traveling on domestic or international flights.

·         Infants must be associated to one of the adults.

·         Infant traveler information is required and must be added as below:

o   INF SFPD DOCS/DB/Gender/Last Name/Name-Adult number

o   Example: DOCS/DB/01JAN12/FI/SMITH/JANE/ANN-1.1

Lap Infants

·         Domestic Travel - SFPD is not required for lap infants (infants with no seat)

·         International Travel - SFPD is required for lap infants and the lap infant must have a passport.

Note: Do not indicate the DOCS/P passport information for the infant. The passport should be scanned at the airport.

Suffixes and Titles

Do not use a suffix and/or title in the name field of the PNR/Order, SFPD or APIS information. According to the TSA, a title or suffix is not required when booking a reservation.

Some examples are:

·         Mr., Mrs., Ms., Dr.

·         Jr., Sr.

·         III, IV

Many of our customers are concerned about TSA Pre® eligibility, and specifically adding a suffix to their name. The suffix is not considered when reservations are vetted with TSA’s Secure Flight system.

For example, if a traveler is enrolled in Global Entry, the suffix field is not utilized for TSA Pre® as the date of birth determines this. For international bookings, the passenger should enter their passport at the time of check-in and the information from the passport must line up with the information in the SFPD field. Do not input the Suffix, as indicated below:

Examples:

 Name Field – John Smith
      DOCS Field – DOCS/DB/27JUN1964/M/SMITH/JONATHAN/JAMES
PSPT Info –   Jonathan James Smith IV

 Name Field – Robert Rivera
      DOCS Field – DOCS/DB/10MAY1972/M/GOMEZRIVERA/ROBERTO/RAY
PSPT Info -    Roberto Ray Gomez Rivera Jr

Note: A name correction should not be made to add a prefix, middle name, or suffix.
