General Information

The National Civil Aviation Agency (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil), known as ANAC, the Brazilian civil aviation authority that governs airline policies and procedures has approved the following guidelines for Schedule Changes.

ANAC guidelines apply to tickets purchased for travel from and within Brazil, regardless of nationality or point-of-sale. Affected travel may include:

·         Flights from and within Brazil which have experienced an involuntary schedule change that occurred outside of 72 hours from the scheduled departure time

Travel Agent Guidelines

Please note: Your Customer(s) should be notified of the schedule change at least 72 hours prior to departure.

ANAC guidelines apply to the following:

·         International flights: Schedule Change of 60 minutes or more from flight departure

·         Domestic flights (within Brazil): Schedule Change of 30 minutes or more from flight departure

For Rebooking, process as an even exchange (no change fee and no add collect) through your GDS. You may use either of the below waiver codes (whichever is applicable) in the Endorsement Box:

·         SKCHG

o   For details on Schedule Change policy and procedures using the SKCHG endorsement, including tickets with other airlines in the itinerary: refer to the Schedule Change Policy

·         BRAZIL ANAC

o   ANAC guidelines allow customers to rebook for dates outside of the Schedule Change Policy date parameters if they remain within Ticket Validity and maintain the same origin and destination.

o   When your customer chooses this option, please follow the Schedule Change Greater than 1-hour (61+ min) guidelines

REFUNDS

To qualify for a refund, international flights must have a 60-minute or greater time change and Domestic flights (within Brazil) must be 30 minutes or greater.

For Refund, process through your GDS using the Waiver Code:  SCRFND

If necessary, you may submit a BSP Refund Application (RA):
 • Input the Reason for Refund, and include the waiver code: SCRFND
(For instructions on how to access IATA and use BSPLink, contact the local IATA/BSP office)

Endorsement Box/Waiver Code Requirement

Endorsement Box Requirement

For exchange within Schedule Change Policy:

·         Endorsement Box on the new ticket must indicate the waiver code: SKCHG

For exchange outside the Schedule Change Policy:

·         The new dates must fall within Ticket Validity and the Endorsement Box on the new ticket must indicate the waiver code:  BRAZIL ANAC

·         This option is allowed one time unless another qualifying schedule change occurs

This is the only annotated verbiage required on the new ticket and supersedes the required verbiage for the ticketed fare

Note: if you choose to include the original fare ticket endorsement verbiage; BRAZIL ANAC should appear at the start of the endorsement/restrictions text on the replacement ticket.

Schedule Irregularity – IROPS

·         Follow normal Irregular Operations (IROPS) procedures
