Schedule Irregularity – IROPS

 

 

General Information

 

Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil), known as ANAC, is the civil aviation authority responsible for regulating airline policies and procedures, which has approved the following guidelines for Schedule Changes.

ANAC guidelines apply to tickets purchased for travel from and within Brazil, regardless of nationality, operating carrier, base fare currency, point of origin (POO) or point-of-sale (POS).

 

Eligibility

·         Tickets including affected flights from and within Brazil which have experienced an involuntary schedule change that occurred outside of 72 hours from the scheduled departure time.

·         Affected flight segment:

o   Domestic (within Brazil): Schedule Change of 30 minutes or more from flight departure

o   International: Schedule Change of 60 minutes or more from flight departure

 

Note: ANAC does not apply to Schedule Irregularity - IROPS (tickets affected within 72 hours of departure).

Schedule Change Rebooking Guidelines

·         Your customer(s) should be notified of the schedule change at least 72 hours prior to departure.

·         Process as an even exchange (no change fee and no add collect) through your GDS.

·         You may use either of the below waiver codes (whichever is applicable) in the Endorsement Box:

o   SKCHG - For details on Schedule Change policy and procedures using the SKCHG endorsement, including tickets with other airlines in the itinerary refer to the Schedule Change Policy

o   BRAZIL ANAC - ANAC guidelines allow customers to rebook for dates outside of the Schedule Change Policy date parameters if they remain within Ticket Validity and maintain the same origin and destination.

·         When your customer chooses this option, please follow the Schedule Change Greater than 1-hour (61+ min) guidelines

·         The new ticket must indicate the waiver code: BRAZIL ANAC (please see Endorsement box section)

·         This option is only allowed one time, unless another qualifying schedule change occurs

 

 

Refund Guidelines

·         To qualify for a refund, international flights must have a 60-minute or greater schedule change and Domestic flights (within Brazil) must be 30 minutes or greater.

·         Refund to Original Form of Payment as long as the itineray was Holding Confirmed (HK) prior to the schedule change

·         Process refund through your GDS using the Waiver Code:  SCRFND

·         If necessary, you may submit a BSP Refund Application (RA)

o   Input the Reason for Refund, and include the waiver code: SCRFND

Endorsement Box/Waiver Code Requirement

For exchange within Schedule Change Policy:

·         Endorsement Box on the new ticket must indicate the waiver codeSKCHG

 

For exchange outside the Schedule Change Policy:

·         The new dates must fall within Ticket Validity and the Endorsement Box on the new ticket must indicate the waiver code:  BRAZIL ANAC

·         This is the only annotated verbiage required on the new ticket and supersedes the required verbiage for the ticketed fare.

·         Note: if you choose to include the original fare ticket endorsement verbiage; BRAZIL ANAC should appear at the start of the endorsement/restrictions text on the replacement ticket.
