Travel Agency Guidelines
This booking policy applies for our ticketed customers affected by the suspension of service on American Airlines prime flights between Philadelphia, PA (PHL) and Edinburgh, United Kingdom (EDI). This rebooking policy applies when the flight was cancelled in the reservation by American.
American proactively rebooked most customers on flights to/from Edinburgh, United Kingdom (EDI) via LHR on AA*/BA flights. You may choose to maintain the updated itinerary, or utilize the procedures provided in this policy to assist customers.

Inventory Requirements
Lowest Inventory, Same Cabin
If original inventory is not available rebook lowest inventory available in the same ticketed cabin up to and including H for the main cabin.
Note: Basic Economy fares must be booked in B inventory
Reissue Policy Information
Travel agents may rebook and reissue tickets as an even exchange provided the below guidelines are met and applied:
- Affected itinerary includes flights on: AA, AA*/AY, AY, AA*/BA, BA, AA*/IB, IB, AA*/JL, JL, AA*/QF, QF
- Ticket issued on AA 001 ticket stock
- Applies to AA*/oneworld flights
- Travel has not commenced on the affected flight segment and the ticket has not been reissued by American Airlines
- The first departure flight is more than 3 hours away
- Affected coupons are in OK status
- Travel reissuance only in accordance to dates identified in this reduction of service policy
- More than one change allowed without an additional collection, including penalty or change fee within the reduction of service dates
- Original issuing agency responsible for ticket reissue
- Ticket Revalidation not permitted
- When changes to the outbound travel occur, the unaffected return date may be changed to protect the original length of the trip
- The return travel must be booked in the original class of service (inventory), unless the return flight also falls within the New Travel Dates of this policy
- Changes outside of these guidelines are subject to the reissue rules of the ticketed fare
- Basic Economy must be rebooked up B inventory in the main cabin
- Please ensure the above procedures are accurately followed to prevent debit memo issuance
Endorsement Box Requirement
- Endorsement Box must include: SKCHG/EDIPROT
- Ticket Reissue required. This is the only required verbiage and supersedes all other information.
Changes to Origin/Destination – Allowed
- Ticket reissue for original ticketed fare
- 300 Mile Radius is allowed
- Must be within same country
- Travel must be wholly on AA
- Changes to origin/destination are not permitted for the suspension of service
- Any changes made to origin/destination all fare rules apply
- Changes to Stopover city are not permitted
Co-terminal and MAC Airports
- Changes to co-terminal and MAC airports on AA Prime flights are allowed
- Co-terminal & MAC Airports are considered the same routing

A refund applies to tickets issued on AA 001 ticket stock for service on American and travel to/from the cities indicated in this notice when AA updated the segment status to WK/UN/UC/NO/HX. This applies to all published, private, and leisure fares.
- Tickets will be refunded to the original form of payment (FOP)
- Penalty fee is waived
- If the itinerary is not already cancelled, be sure to cancel the space prior to submitting the refund
The refund must be processed using the waiver code SCRFND/EDIPROT, and can be processed using the waiver code as follows:
- Via the GDS (Preferred Method)
- ARC/IAR Refund Exchange Notice (REN)
- BSPLink Refund Application (RA)
Note: If the ticket has been exchanged by American as an INVOL submit the refund request directly with American. Refer to American Airlines Refunds.
